These are the mini versions of the Stroopwafels. Does size matter?
For a start, these waffles have slightly crunchy outer layer. But the texture is defined by the caramel in the middle. The caramel is sticky and require some strong teeth to pull it apart. So for me, these mini ones are much better because it’s smaller, which means it’s easier to bite a piece out. And when chewing, there’s less caramel to stick all over your teeth. I cannot imagine going back to those bigger ones!
Oh, and like most European dessert or biscuits, it’s very sweet. You’ll need a strong cup of coffee to counter the sweetness.
