M&S Salted Caramel Rice Cakes

Ah… that magic ingredient of salted caramel. It has taken over the world by storm in the last few years. But interestingly, it was invented back in 1977. What can go wrong with salted caramel? Rice cakes perhaps? We shall see.

The rice cakes are crunchy and being rice, quite bland. On top, there’s a layer of salted caramel, with some crunchy bits of rice cakes on it. The texture is a bit like crunchy peanut butter. The combination? Very good. The sticky salted caramel works so well with the crunch rice cakes. The flavour of the salted caramel is perfectly balanced by the bland rice cakes.

Another food that works well with salted caramel. It’s hard to find one that doesn’t. Any ideas?
