What is a Genji Pie. Looks familiar? Yes, if you turn it upside down, it is a palmier. I like palmiers and I have wrote about a few nice ones before here and here. These Genji pie is marketed as a “heart-warming” pie because of it’s shape.
Well, I don’t really care if it looks like a mountain or a heart because my stomach will be able to fill both. As long as the texture is right. For me, palmier is all about the crispy and layered texture.


These Genji pies delivers on both. It is crispy and layered. Unlike the M&S ones, this one is more like biscuity crispy, less bread-like crisp. Either way, it’s nice.
